99 Optimax problem 135HP

Anyone have any suggestions...
I was running this weekend and all of a sudden loss power on my Optimax. I started her back up and she began to move real slow and then stalled again. Upon diagnosis I noticed the alternator bolt broke which caused the alternator to come loose and my drive belt to snap.
I put on a new drive belt and resecured the alternator but the engine just won't start. Everything turns crankshaft, compressor, alternnator but no dice. Anyone else ever have this problem....

Would running the motor without the drive belt cause any damage? Everything is turning but just won't kick over.

I appreciate any tips...

sorry to hijack this thread, but how well does that 135 do on the overnighter?

Thus far it was doing great... been running it since 2002 when I got the Optimax as a leftover. It runs steady at 4000 rpms. not a racing machine but it does fine on a plane

awesome. I have the same boat, but with an old 175 Merc on it. I will probably repower before TOO long.

Have you checked to see if you are getting fire to the plugs?

actually I didn't have all my tools with me to pull the plugs gonna try and do that today
