99 Optimax-need new boot-unhooking cabels

I need to put a new boot in my splash well and was wondering if anybody has experience unhooking the cables/hoses/wiring harness from a 99 135 Optimax. I'm pretty much all set with everything but the throttle and gear linkage. Can I take these off without messing up the settings??? Any help would be much apprecitated.
