I have a '99 4 stroke (carburated) that ended up with clogged jets because of some neglect during a long move.
It now runs fine off the trailer, which is generaly 2-3 miles. After being off for a period of time and restarted it bogs down at about 4K RPM. After I run 3-4 miles, nursing it at just under the point at which it pulls down, It will slowly, very slowly raise the RPM limits until it will finally run normal again.
Any ideas?

50hp. I also failed to note that this is after the carbs had kits installed. Could they have failed to hook something uo, or adjust the choke properly?

Don't the carbs need a special measuring tool to adjust the carbs ?Mercury gauges to balance and sync ?

DHP

They do, but that wouldn't cause a problem at higher speeds. I would get it back to the place that worked on it previously... Let tham have a chance to make it right. Might be something simple...

Is it one of the engines that had the "rocker arm" recall?
