99 kawaski 1100zxi stalls

i have a kawaski 1100zxi jetski that when i take it out it runs fine til i go to open it up.it goes to max speed but after a minute or two it will stall out.sometimes its hard starting but it will but i can only idle it once you start to give it gas it will stall right out.anyone have this problem and know what to do

I had that problem once. I would put it in the water an idle out of the no wake zone. Once i gave it gas it would rev up and die. It would take a few minutes to start and the same thing would happen. I could idle back to the ramp fine. I took the carbs apart and nothing, no water or anything. It turns out the fuel tank vent that goes up to the handlebars had fallen down and was sucking water from the bottom of the hull. I had about a half a tank of water. Check for water in the gas.
