99 Johnson 25 impeller and shifting problems

Started the motor for the first time this year and no water coming out of the pee hole...

stuck weed eater line through it and it's not blocked (pushed more then 4 feet of it in) also blew it through with air compressor

changed the impeller and housing (complete kit) and re installed and it's still not pumping water????

also i lost forward gear as well so Forward and Neutral are free spinning and only reverse locks up...

any ideas/help would be appreciated

If it worked fine before you took it apart, I'd check to see if the water tube is installed and the shift linkage is put together correctly.

took it all apart again and everything looked right...

put it back together and added more water to the bin i was running it in and it started peeing again...

I would have sworn that i ran it on the muffs last year and it worked fine... I could be wrong though...

the loss of forward gear was the shifter needed being adjusted...

all is well now - World order is restored!!

A little tip. If you run that mtr on muffs, you need a set that puts water on BOTH sides of the pick up. With the one sided ones you can suck air.

Great info guy!! I have a question how do I adjust the shifter. I replaced a few shifting parts and added a front shift lever. Now when shifting out of forward to neutral it stays in forward. I push the lever a little in reverse it pops in to neutral. And help would be greatly appreciated!!!
