Curious if the spark plug wires are suppose to easily pull out of the coils...? After running my boat for a full day I looked over the engine and was checking spark plug boots and wires for tight connections and found 2 wires that were connected directly to the coil - not glued. These two wires had boots but easily pulled off, wires exposed on the end with a hole in the center where they just stuck into the coil pin...? These two wires and coils looked newer like they were replaced at some point...obviously not by me. If someone could let me know if I need to replace the coil and wire unit or if this is standard connection that would be greatly appreciated.

Engine runs real strong - 140 to 150 psi on all 4 cylinders. Engine has a small miss/cough at idle and seems to be running a little rich.

Re: 99 Force 120

That's the way the coils/wires are designed. The wires are replaceable. The wires just "screw" or "twist" into place on the threaded post. If they've gotten wallowed out and won't stay on, just snip a little bit of the end of the wire off to get rid of the wallowed out portion of the wire and screw it back on. Check to make sure the wire is long enough to snip a little bit off first.

Awesome, thanks pnwboat! I will re-snip the ends and repush / screw them on the posts.
