who told you "forget about help from bombardier"? If it was the dealer i would punch him in the face, then sell the motor for around $3000, then go buy a used Yamma! If not the dealer, i would be the biggest stink that company ever heard from. Trust me you can cause much more damage to them then you think by badmouthing.

Re: 99 FICHT 115

hey waterhead,
i hate to say this but - I just bought a boat a few days ago and while i was hunting for the right boat and motor, a fellow bass master wanna be friend of the family told me to NOT touch the ficht. he bought brand new 99 225 hp ficht, and he blew it, got it replaced and then it blew again 3 months later. now none of the local dealers or any dealers he called would fix it.

he bought a yamaha 225 now, and sold the ficht for 500$ - no lie! its up to you, sorry to hear about your dilemma.

good luck! -- above is just my experience and opinion. you dont have to listen to it!

But Be WARNED !

The dealers I have been working with have had good luck with Bombardier covering the 1999's. The trick is to do all the updates. And get with an Evinrude / Johnson dealer who was resigned by Bombardier. Some were not resigned. Remember, the final say comes from Bombardier, not the dealer.

Good luck!

Dhadley is right. By the terms of the agreeement of sale to Bombardier, they are not required to do anything. However, in many instances they are.

Check with another dealer. Go to Bombardiers website and find the closest resigned dealer.
