98 Mercury Force Tracker tach help

I have a 98 Mercury Force 40hp on my pontoon which I just upgraded from a Mercury 9.9. After installing everything is up and running great other then I have no tach. Does not move...the tach worked great before the switch. Is it a setting on the tach? Any help would be great...

Does it move at all when key is switched on? If not make sure you are getting 12V to it. It should be set to 6P. Its probably set to 4P for your 9.9

Will look at it this evening....I didn't change any settings on the tach before or after installing the new motor...

Ok, I took a look and it was set on 6P....I don't believe it was wired correctly...can anyone tell me what wires go where on the tach and I will see if it works tomorrow..
