all ohm tests on the stator are within spec, yet i can't get more than 8.4volts out of it on the rope crank. (spec should be north of 70volts). cranking volt tests on the brown leads seem to show some leakage to the negative leads indicating a probable stator short. The manual says either to repair the short or replace the stator. The stator wires look good to me.
Is there anything else in there that is owner or shop repairable?
unlikely i can really check out the power pack correctly without the firepower from the stator. correct? ohm tests for the pack are also in spec. but there is virtually no voltage to the primary plug coil.
