I just purchased a 98' EZ Roll Trailer that looks in real good shape. Does anybody have any advice for me on what to do for preventative maintiance, ex; what should I use WD-40 on, what should I grease, etc.

Also, I am not sure what the proper maintiance on the tires should be? Is the trailer something that I can bring down to a marina to, I don't know if this termonology is right, "re-pack" the tires, if so what are the typical prices. Or is this something really easy for a person to do?

Tires should be kept at the maximum rating, and changed when showing check marks on the sidewalls or splits or treads delaminating. Bearings will need to be repacked occasionally. That is real easy, can be done in 30 mins. Make sure that your coupler and hitch ball are the same size. make sure all your lights work.

Is there any sites that you would recommend for me to show me how to repack the berrings?

Thanks

Put a gob of wheel bearing grease in the palm of one hand. Insert your forefinger through the bearing with wide side of the bearing facing away from you. Holding the bearing with your thumb and forefinger, use a scraping motion, drag the edge of the bearing into the edge of the gob of grease while pulling toward you. This repeated motion forces grease between the rollers. Rotate the bearing a little and repeat until grease has oozed to the outer part of the bearing through the rollers. Sounds more complicated than it really is. If you want to use a lot more grease, you can buy a bearing packer tool and a grease gun. Instructions come with it.
