I have read there are 2 bushings on the lower trim cylinder mounted in the gimbal housing area not sure the technical term for it. I think mine are bad because I have a bit of play back there when I lift the drive by hand. So has anyone removed these and if so how did you do it?

Thanks for the tip. So is a certain amount of play up and down OK. I would say the drive is moving 1/8-1/4 of an inch up and down and its all centralized at the back of the trim cylinder. Could this also be the anchor pin that runs through gimbal ring has just wore the hole in the gimbal ring out? That would be a lot more money im assuming.

It could , the same bushing can be installed in the transom/outdrive ends if the pin is sloppy.
