I have a 98' 150Ficht, updates, and all that- no real history of major problems/issues, (except only 120 hrs on it)- lately- at WOT, (5300rpm), I'll occassionaly get a 100-200 RPM loss, (via Dash tac), and they last 1/2 to 1 second, and vary in frequency- in a 2 min WOt run- I'll get anywhere feom 0- 10 of em. Stop/ start okay- then they'll be back at WOT right away- or it'll take a few min.'s, or...not for a long time. No horns, warning lights- does not run rough when the drop occures- just picks up again and sounds fine. Lower RPS'm not affected- trim adj- does not make it worse/better- new Bulb, fresh gas and plugs look good.....
any ideas?
Fuel pump? injector?
Have an extended warranty that I'd like to cash in on if needed- but it expires soon.....

wj

Hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail fitting and make sure it stays above 20 psi. If not, troubleshoot the fuel supply from the boat before condeming the fuel pumps.

Some of those older
motors had a timing surge for some reason, and retarding the spark 2 degrees helped a lot, yet did not slow the motor down.
