I just picked up a 1997 regal lsr 2100 with 4.3 volvo penta. Boat is clean for year except with few minor scrathes.

I need a new prop because the one that is on there is a bit chewed up and curious whats the best for overall tubing, skiing, and just crusing.(3blade or 4blade)?? wheres a good place to purchase from? Also what other problem i should worry about with a boat that 13 years old??

I'm new to boats so please chime in if you have any advise..thanks

My old '98 2100 LSR with a 5.0 Mercruiser really responded well to a 20" stainless steel 4 blade as an all-around prop. The boat was originally equipped with a 23" aluminum 3 blade. If you plan to replace a 3 blade with a 4 blade, you typically drop 1" of pitch to keep the same WOT RPM.

I can highly recommend finding a local marine parts dealer that will allow you to try a few props. You'll pay more than you'd pay online, but you'll have the luxury of trying many props.

I have a 2100 lsr with the 5.0. Because I do most of my boating at 2000' to 4900' altitude with max loads I have been using a 17" aluminum 4 blade. The kids really like to be whipped around while tubing so I spend most of my life powering through turns. The stock 21" 3 blade takes 30 seconds to get on plane with full load at 4500'
