97 merc 6: I dont understand how people dont know how to flush this little engine??

people here know how to rebuild engines but cannot tell me how to flush my engine with fresh water???

To fresh water flush the motor, you need to remove the prop and place a set of muffs over the water intake on the bottom of the cavitation plate and run the motor with enough water to get the motor flushed. Same as using muffs on a larger motor but with the prop removed and the muffs covering the intake for the motor. This is how the manual states to do it. JMO

Or you simply put it in water (tub, garbage can) and run it.

Can anyone link me to a spot I can buy the muffs, I live in an apartment so I can't put it in a barrel and live in NYC no fresh lakes here only my bath Tub lol

Isn't there a lake in Central Park?

The apartment living in the City is the problem, weimed. The tub idea is ok except for the neighbors and lease restrictions. And the water pick-up under the A/V plate doesn't help either. Do you have a parking garage? Or a friend with an outside hose spigot? Just trying some ideas.

Depending on how its made you may have to get a set of muffs from a dealer.
