I replaced the battery and may have reversed the isolated two wires which should have connected to the + side of the battery onto the - side instead. Since this is 1st usage this year I don't know if guages worked prior or not but they don't work know nor the Trim motor. I opened up the Motor Box and found some water inside and every thing was damp. Fuses are okay and I have power to the electric motor which doesn't work (replacing trim motor) but guages still don't work.
Inside the Motor Box are two electronic units. A Trim Sensor and a Control Unit. Are the guages controlled by the Control unit inside the Motor Box thus the reason they aren't working or did we fry something else? Since everything was wet I can understand if the trim sensor doesn't work but don't have the schematics yet to figure out how and why the guages don't work.
This is probably a water issue and I need to replace the electronic units in the Motor Box, but are there any ideas out there?
