Hello All,
New to the forum and wanted to ask about trouble shooting a no Spark Issue. Starts and runs a little rough at idle. Pulled # 4 plug boot off while running and no change in idle. Pulling any of 1-3 will cause the idle to stumble when removed. Swapped a known good plug from #2 to #4 and no change. Ohmed out the primary side and secondary side of the coil per the shop manual and both sides measure in spec. I also verified that the electrical connection from the #4 side of the coil pack has continuity back to the connector which plugs into the CDI module. At this point I think the coil, plug wire, plug and connection to the CDI are all good. I'm wondering if I can do anything else to confirm the CDI is the culprit before purchasing one? I was thinking to swap coils and see if the problem follows the coil. If it doesn't that pretty much points to the CDI. Anyone had a similar issue they've fixed in the past?

Did you actually check to see if the plug was firing or not? All the spark in the world is not going to fire a cylinder with no gas in it. Honda's actually have a pretty good record when it come to ignition. Like the other manf's, not so much when it comes to carbs. They will plug up in pretty short order if not properly maintained, especially when sitting for months unused.
