Starts fine, seems to idle fine, but when it's in gear has a small vibration, I thought it was weeds on the prop as i go out our channels into the lake but the prop was clear, give it full throttle and it only gets to about 3000rpm
Linkage all seems to be moving to "full" but it simply doesn't rev beyond about 3000, it I trim it way up it will go a little higher 3200 ~ 3400 maybe)
Put a timing light on it at the dock and there's spark at all cylinders but just idle or rev'd up but not tested in gear under load (I'm by myself)

Last year had some problems where it would quit at idle and ended up having someone rebuild all 3 carbs, new plugs and a new ignition module (power pack? I replaced the factory unit probably 10 years ago with a CDI brand, this new one is black and has no names on it at all) and he re-set everything and it works the rest of the season like a charm, almost seemed to idle too low but never quit. That was late in the season, probably less than 10 hours on it, maybe 6-10 runs.

This was the first time out this year, started it when it went into the water and just putted around to the dock last week, went to go out this week. Started fine on fast idle and as I was putting stuff away and putting the canopy up I noticed the idle suddenly dropped down from maybe 1500 to 1000 but didn't quit or anything. Other than that it seems normal.

Do you think the cdi module crapped out already? I'm going to try to get someone to come out with me on the water to run the boat and I can check with the timing light again but under load and I've got a spark gap tester I picked up today, have to look up how exactly to check with that, idle or under load again.

Anyway, open for suggestions

Getting a good stream from the pump, new impeller last year. I didn't test compressing now but last year was 110 on all 3 cyl (middle maybe 108) with very few hours since then. I'll bring my compression tester up next weekend. The 4 warning lights and the beeper all come on when I turn the key and then go out so the system seems to be working. I'm not sure how to test the VRO oil output, I'll see if I can look that up. Primer bulb goes hard. New filter last year

Finally managed to get back to the boat. Checked the spark with a gap tool and the middle cylinder wasn't getting spark. Top and bottom were jumping 1/2". Swapped the spark plug wire and same, nothing on the middle. Connected the wire from the cdi box for the top onto the middle coil and still nothing, connected the cdi from the middle coil to the top coil and the top still has spark so that's telling me (I believe) that the middle coil is bad but the cdi seems to be ok. I looked at the coil and it was strange that none of them have any numbers on them so I looked at my older pictures and I can seem OMC 582508 stamped on all the coils so I guess the guy who worked on it last year replaced all the coils as well as the CDI box... Still comical that a new coil only lasted about 10 hours, maybe 6-10 runs... Anyway, I'm now trying to find a new coil and will try it this week hopefully

Coil was bad, replaced with a new CDI one (only thing I could get it seems) and we are back making waves
