96 Yamaha Wave Raider, Bad carb kit parts

Rebuilt all three carbs on my 1100. Could not get it to run right. Pulled carbs apart again and found all three check valves on the kidney shaped Valve Body assembly had softened. Anybody run into this? Just running regular gasoline. See picture.

Complained to vendor and he sent me new kits. Replaced check valves and ski runs like a top.
