'96 Yamaha 90HP Question

On the bow side of my lower unit is a piece of plastic tubing which comes out from below and heads up toward the powerhead. It is broken at about the water line. The engine runs fine, but can anyone tell me what the function of this tube is or where it goes to so that I can fix it?

Its for a speedometer. If you dont have one they normally have a plug in the end of the line. Look at the leading edge of the lower unit about midway. There is a small hole. This is where the water goes into the tube your talking about.

Thank you, Trent, for this information. I bought the engine used and know little about it. I need to break out some money and buy a manual for it.
