96 XP wont start or turn

Both of my XP's ran fine winterized and went to pull them out last week to summerize and both lanyards giving me problems. On one the lanyard works here and there prob. will need to be replaced thats ok, but the second ski I get nothing when I attach it and all gauge lights lite up with or with out the lanyard attached and push start and nothing happens .Batt. is fully chared.Any ideas would be great at my witts end trying to figure this out. had similar issues in the past , once it was the post reader even though the test showed it was ok I replaced it and the problem was solved the reader is where you attach the lanyard and the other time it was the key,,
