Hello,

Motor seized on me....removed plugs and was able to turn PTO almost all the way around before it grabbed again. Seems to be a lock up spot somewhere in lower end. Any ideas as to what might be binding? Popped cover and flywheel is clear. Pump didn't look to be binding as far as I could tell (black wear ring).

Thanks in advance for any help!

My son was on it when it happened so I'm not sure.......

A rebuild is in order then? Never gone that deep into the motor.

I thought I heard something grumbling (like a bad bearing) towards the front right leg side of the engine just as I hit the bad spot.

Thanks again for your help Jeff!

Yup.....that and the "it was running great thenit just stopped" deal is all I got....

Those pictures you linked me to is scaring me into the shop for the repairs....kid's baseball also leaves me no free time.

Thanks again for your time Jeff!

that one was still running but ready to hatch, yours will be a lot worse possibly broke a rod but even doing a swap requires a lot of tear down, and if you never did a pto ,stator or rotary valve, you may not want to try, plus you need to find the culprit was the engine sunk a while ago? did the oil pump quit? need to know what caused the failure or it will fail again

Well lets just say.... Its not cheap to fix. Lol. If your going to the extent of tearing the motor down just put new rods, pistons, and bearings in and it will be like brand new. You can get alot of your parts on ebay for cheaper.
