I have an XP that ran fantastic last year. I went to throw the charged battery on it and take it out this year and the minute you attach the cables the alarm goes off and won't stop. HELP! Can I detach the wire and if so, where in the world is it?

Go buy a new sender. If you remove the wire the beeping shoudl go away if not the wire is grounding out. if the beeping goes away then the sensor is bad. Not a good thing to run with no temp sensor.

that is a common problem since the alarm sounds when the engine is cold you have a bad sensor, it is on top of the head with one wire attached to it
