First time here.
My first boat .
1996 Sea Rayder F16 XR

It has a 120 hp Merc with jet drive
It starts easy and idles good .
When acccelerating , the boat gets up on plane , runs good for about 30 sec. and then quickly dies.
It will immediately restart ..... without waiting on anything to cool down .
My dad replaced the stator assy,trigger assy and rev. limiter assy.
Replaced the head gasket .
Replaced the battery.
Then we paid a repair shop $500 to tune it up.
Still had the same problem afterwards .
Ran the boat from a different gas tank ... same thing.
As a side note , sometimes there is a knocking noise when the motor is restarted but we don't know where its coming from .
Since purchasing the boat, we've never used it for more than a few minutes.
Any ideas on why the boat dies?? Or what the knocking noise might be.
