'96 ocean runner 225 primer soleniod

after sqeezing the fuel ball to a solid state is it acceptable to see any fuel dripping from the primer soleniod. Which direction should the lever be? Up or Down? When down, the ball gets hard and when it's moved up I see fuel drip out from the lever.

No gas leaks allowed! From anywhere!<br /><br />The cap is probably cracked, kinda common.

Not acceptable - check the connections and if OK repace the primer.

Thank you. I have found a small chip in the solenoid fitting o-ring. This was the cause for the leak.
