I need some help from the experts ... I have a 96 Sea Ray (Sea Sprite) Mercruiser 350 5.7L which was told had sat for about 1 year. We took it out and all was fine and then ... it just died while cruising at about 35 mph. I have since replaced the battery, replaced the plugs, checked the distributor (no broken teeth, etc) replaced the spark sensor in the distibutor. I have compression, I have spark, I have fuel, it runs but VERY rough and not sure if it could be a timing issue. Is it possible if I hit something (ie, a rock while moving very slowly), that it could break the teeth in the timing chain? Thanks and really appreciate the help - so I can get her off my back :)
