this engine runs on 2 cyl when idleing it makes for a really bad hole shot i think merc controled this with carbs is there any way to make it run on all four with out replaceing the carbs

You lucky owner thats a cool engine as you can trool down when fishing. I say leave it alone hey its 115hp sure is better than my force 75. You could change out 4 or so parts to convert but why.

The way the this motor only runs on two under 2200rpm's is the bottom carbs don't have idle jets. If you want it to run on all four all the time you will have to get two top carbs and replace the bottom two with the new carbs.<br /><br />Craig

I have that same engine, on a 20', 2250# boat, and the hole shot, is fantastic. The only time, it has a problem, is right around 2,000RPM. It can't figure, out whether it wants to run, on 2 or 4cylinders. :D
