Charging system not keeping up. I have been putting it on a charger after each use and pushing the inevitable down the road. My last trip out the Tach quit. The unit has low hours but the age has me questioning spending the cash for repairs. I value the input I have received from this site and look forward to reading your comments.
I have enclosed a picture of a circuit board that appears to be burned out . I have no idea what it is. Thanks in advance for your input.

Rectifier / voltage regulator.----Easy fix.-----But if $$$$ are not an issue you will be happy with a new $8,000 Model 4 stroke.

The number came off the original sales receipt. I found it on Crowley's web site. I pulled the fuse before I removed the cover. Any ideas on the circuit board at the bottom of the picture? I am 70 years old. I paid $1500 for a 15 foot Starcraft and this outboard 8 years ago. There is no new boat on my retirement income. Thanks again for the input.

Yes, same here on serial number info..., https://www.crowleymarine.com/mercury/oem-parts/outboard/1995/1040312rt?mdl=QQKRG5&q=0G223557

Two (of many) of iboats forums best outboard techs above mentioned the circuit board is a Rectifier / voltage regulator which will be item number 49 in the parts diagram 'Merc part number 8M0084173 as long as you're sure the engine info is a match to what Crowley marine shows your engine to be vs what you posted as the engine to be,

I'd recommend double checking for a engine serial number on the actual engine (and Horsepower rating) before ordering parts mentioned above like seen in the following guide,
