96 johnson fast strike 150hp

I get a pulsing alarm and the engine dies. I have reprime the fuel bulb to restart and the problem reoccurres. The oil tank is full and i see a signs of oil leakage around the oil pump. A former boat mechanic told me it was probably the vro pump.

Joe, I do not understand what a "pulsing alarm" is. Is it a beep-beep of the horn? Air leaks between the primer bulb and the main strainer will cause you to lose prime. Also a leaking vapor seperator gasket or faulty vapor pump will also cause loss of prime.
