the pin plugs to the gauges and run a new ground wire from them to the battery, I have had that issue several times as the ground wire gets decayed inside the coating.

Thanks Jeff! It is on the 96. That thing runs great! Your Cobra Jet steer is awesome!
Did any of the gauges or speedo work when you had it last?

that was one that I found a bad ground wire on, and replaced the wire, the gauges do work but as they get old the wires go bad going through the hood to the main box, and the pin conectors get corroded also. you need to actually do a continuity test on each wire and see if one is not conducting any electricity. or find a good harness and just replace it from the gauges to the brain box.

left side in front of engine by fuel tank but I would just locate the harness from it to the hood because you really don't need to get inside it and it is a s o b to get in and out if you don't know the tricks, the fuel gauge always read full but the speedo worked if you could see the dumb indicator, to get the gauges out just pull them they sit in a rubber gasket no bolts etc

Thanks Jeff, I will work on it the first of the week.
There is nothing at all working so i bet it is a ground issue..
Only thing that really worries me is the temp light not working.

that was working fine,, to check it, turn on the ski and pull the wire from the sender on top of the engine, then ground the wire as if the sender was doing it, it should make the hot light and alarm buzzer go off once it is grounded
