96 Blazer tow rating

This is a 4.3 vortec 4wd 4 door need to know what it will haul. Have a 6000 lb camper and thinking about buying this vehicle if it will handle it. I'm thinking it won't but not sure any info would be appreciated.

Each year Trailer Life Mag prints the tow ratings for many tow vehicles. Maybe you can get a back issue from them. 1-800-825-6861. Some times the tow ratings are posted on a placard located in the glove box. What you realy want to know it the GCVWR. (Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating) it is the maximum weight of trailer +vehicle +passengers +gear you can drag around. Maybe the dealer can furnish the numbers you need.

It depends on how often or how far your going to pull it. I pulled a 5600# boat<br />with the same truck and it can do it with<br />out to much trouble. Use a weight distrubuting hitch and have trailer brakes!<br />However 6000# is maxing it out. I now have a full size V8 and feel more comforable. If you plan on pulling long distance or up a lot of hills get a V8.
