my '96 Volvo Penta 5.8 L has developed erratic readings with the tilt/trim guage and i'm pretty sure it's got to be corrosion on the sending unit located somewhere in the leg or??

can anybody direct me to the right location so i can repair this problem?

Faria guages and all contacts are clean and the guage is operative, only the indicator is not what the leg position is and it is always jumping around.

The trim sender is located on the starboard side of the gimbal ring. Attached with 2 small bolts over the pivot pin.
