Please help if you can.
My 1996 115 is starting to make a whinning noise only when warmed up. The noise is coming from the upper part of the lower unit where the engine cowling meets the lower unit. Engine runs great and there is no performance issue. I am worried there is a bearing starting to go or maybe it's as simple as a water pump going bad.
If you know what this is please advise. Also if you think I can fix it myself or should I take it to a authorized dealer.
