I need to do some work on the transom, but I've never had to remove an outboard motor before now. So far, I have one basic question:
Can the Yamaha 150 HP Saltwater series outboard be lifted and suspended by the single lifting ring located on the top near the rear of the engine?? My manual says this is for lifting the power head, but it is the only obvious lift point. Or is there some other way it should be rigged for lifting?
Also, any advice about disconnecting the throttle linkage would sure be appreciated. I think I can handle the rest.
