Hello everyone,
This is a 96 225 carburated 3.0 liter V-6. I didn't do the teardown, my father did. I am putting this motor back together. I am taking it slow since it is my first rebuild this complicated. I have a clymer manual I have been reading, and familiarizing myself with parts and proceedures.

Ok, This motor has a bleeding system. I have checked and replaced clogged check valves on the outside of the case. On the crankcase cover, there are some worm holes with other internal check valves inside of square rubber blocks. Looking at them, there is a ball bearing on one side, and two holes on the other. These will fit facing either way. My question is, which way should they face? In my manual, it shows the valves, but does not explain which way they face (at least as far as I can see)

My father taped them in during teardown, but there is one missing due to the tape coming loose. Therefore, I think I should verify which way they each go.

Thanks in advance, Mike.
