hey guys i cant figure out this prob. the thing starts right up and idles fine and runs fine until about half throttle but as soon a i give it any more throttle it sounds like the motor is banging off the rev limiter or something. i took it out last week and it ran just fine and we switched riders then it started acting up. ive checked both fuel filters(carb/inline). still same thing happens and it does it under load and out of load. ive checked the spline for stripping, and ive checked the impellar for stray stuff like rope ect. the only thing i can think of is that it might be an electrical prob. but i dont know what to check or what to look for.

it is the drive not the engine,, either you have broken motor mounts and the engine is lifting up under a load and pulling itself off the drive shaft splines or you have a bad drive shaft,, my money is on the motor mounts being broken as that is a common problem, and soon will tear up the p t o and the drive shaft
