I have a Polaris 750 and it seems to be "drowning out". It starts and runs at idle speed. When you give it gas it starts to cut out then it speeds up. It does this sparatically. I can pull the choke half way up and it will pick up power then it will cut out again. It will do this for about 10 minutes then cut off. It seems like maybe water in the gas, but the gas is new and I used the same gas in both of mine. The other is fine. I changed the spark pluggs they were fowled. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi Lynn!

You might want to cut and paste your question over at Greenhulk.net...that is where all of the Polaris owners hang out (myself included, MSX 150)!

You will get some great suggestions from some of the best Polaris mechanics and 750 owners....

Happy skiing!

Thanks, I will keep that website close. I actually found the problem. It was water in the tank. I had a hairline crack on the male end of my gas cap. While docked it must have hit the dock bottem and cracked it. I have one ordered and the gas is out. Im in waiting for more fun! Thanks again iboaters!:D

Nice work!

You might still want to ask if anyone has a cap at GreenHulk...they usually share parts with other Polaris freaks.

Can't hurt to have a backup...cap, or ski!

Fixed and ran great for about 30 minutes. Now does the same thing. If it boggs down I can pull the choke/injector and it will catch up and run. Then right back to cutting out. I know its a fuel problem but dont know where to begin. i think it may be fuel starved but not sure. Also I have notice that the red LED blinks as I am trying to start it. Never blinked before. Any suggestions...

probably means low voltage in the battery or a weak ground conection or bad rectifier

I'm not much help right now as my polaris does the same thing. I'll be watching this thread, and will post anything that I find on mine if I ever get a chance to work on it.

Re: 95 polaris sl750 cutting out

Flashing light was low battery. Fixed. I had it running again and when I turned corners it would cut out. I am pretty sure that it it fuel starved. I took off the bowl with the filter and "water catcher ring"??? (not sure of the name) and poured the gas out. When I put it back on usually it fills as I try to start it. This time I didn't get much gas into the bowl. Fuel inline filter looks half full as well. When I opened the tank lid there was pressure. I am not sure of the mechanics of this fuel system. I have mechanical experience but PWC is new. Could this be the fuel pump going bad or would this be getting air . I need help. I originally starting having problems right after I rolled it. When I rolled it I imediately turned it back over. iBoats never let me down before I know someone out there can help. Thank you in advance.

As to not know much about these fuel systems I figured it had to get air from somewhere, so I searched. My hose going into the tank that supplies air was lying freely in the bottom of the boat. It has a little filter or something on it. I pulled it off and started it. Gas started to flow. It evidently was sucking water from the inside of my hull and clogged upand water to enter my tank allowed. I cleaned it out and gas flowed smooth. Something so simple. So far it has ran for about 2 hours without problem.:)

It was the tank vent lines. They ran all the way under my motor and to the back. I found out that they were not supposed to be there or that long. Someone has replaced them.
