I picked up a '95 SeaRay SkiRay last year with only 116 hours on it. Love everything about the boat except for how it starts when hot. After shutting down the motor for only 5 minutes after it is warmed up, the fast start is usually needed to get it going. Fuel pump is new as are the bulb and gas lines. Motor idles well and starts well cold (using choke only, don't usually need the fast start)and runs flawlessly throughout speed range. Hot starting problem is a pain in butt for wife and others who drive the boat. Would different reeds help? I have also wondered how involved & $$$ it would be to swap out an EFI powerhead out of a newer 225 hp, if I could find one.
