Re: 95 Kowasaki trim broke and battery drains
I had a trim break and found that the stop was unhooked so the motor went too far and bound up, I made a new stop for it and reinstalled it and it worked, as for the battery take one side off and see if it sparks with everything turned off indicating a draw you can try a test light between the ground and the battery see if it comes on, in most cases there will be a bad cell in the battery causing it to die, see if one cell is low on water a bad cell will boil off water faster than the others, also put a volt meter on the battery, unplug the plug wires and crank the engine if the volt meter drops below 11 volts there is a bad cell, it should read above 12 volts with the batter just sitting and often it will read 13 volts once a load is on it it drops . if you dead short the battery and one cell bubbles that cell it bad. I place a load tester on them and look for the voltage drop.
