Hi fellas, I'm new and no boat mechanic but am an electrician in the great state of pa
Heres the story. Went out couple weeks ago mixed gas a little heavy maybe 3 ounces to heavy in 6 gallons. Motor ran for bout 3-4 hours, started to run rough then felt like only one cylinder then quit, paddled 6 hours in, took to mechanic mechanic tested boat says he couldn't find anything put it back together and it ran he says, take boat out get to same exact spot in water running fine then feels like dropped a cylinder, of course slow down and motor quits got running again on what feels like one cylinder and take key switch out and hot wire yellow/red to black and feels like 2 cylinder kicks in but when I put case back together grounded and blew fuse, I have taken so things apart and found insulation to some wires worn so taped them up red wire at engine back right on terminal strip was knocked and grounded taped up anything looking questionable, replaced coil pack, key switch, nothin happening it's turning not firing, looking at ignition solenoid or/and power pack. I am not getting spark from coil pack to spark plug. Looking for help folks not rich buy any means and have 4 children, power pack ain't a cheap guess. PLEASE somebody care.

if no spark at the plugs then disconnect the black yellow wire (kill) at the powerpack and see if that works, if so kill switch bad. If spark is getting to coils but not to plugs then troubleshoot the coils and also check the leads for damage...
