Testing that regulator is really easy if you have access to an ohm meter and I have never seen one fail with those symptoms. It would be great if you could isolate the engine away from the boat and can.Unplug the green main harness plug from the remote control.Connect the battery cables and if the fuse blows you know you have an engine issue. If not you have an an issue between the remote and engine or guage panel.I've changed dozens of harnesses but seldom a regulator unless there was a charging issue.

I'm helping a friend on this prob.

He tells me that, with white wire lifted from rectifier, ohmmeter reads short to case when the meter (+ lead) is connected to white wire on rectifier and case (- lead).

Reading is open circuit with meter connected to white wire that was lifted. Fuse good and batty diconnected.

Short on rectifier white appears to be prob. Fuse is connected to white wire.

Your thoughts?
