Hey guys,

While testing the primary resistance on the ignition coil I'm getting .9 - 1. But when I try to test the secondary I get nothing. I am getting no spark and assume this could be the issue but wanted to verify I should be getting a reading like the manual states. I have one lead on the spark plug wire and the other on one of the primary terminals. Testing both plug wires and both terminals and I get no reading.

Just wanted to verify before ordering a new one I should be getting some kind of reading on that.

Thanks in advance :)

I dont like relying on resistance readings. I get much better more accurate results checking DVA voltage. Most outboard coils require about 150 volts from the stator and 1 volt from the trigger on a DVA meter to fire. I believe that is a waste spark system so both plugs should be firing at the same time.

But if you want to check the resistance the manual specifies as follows

For some reason they state that these measurements should only be made on a Fluke 88 meter

Pulsar Coil 351-429 ohms
Ignition Coil (Primary) .35-.43 ohms (between the two terminals)
Ignition Coil (Secondary) 8.01-9.79 kohms (Two spark plug leads)
