I purchased my Force early this summer, and except for a stupid mistake skag problem, it has run like a charm. Yesterday I launched, it started hard and when it finally started would not run off idle. The plugs seem good, the primer bulb remains solid, I tried both my tanks and had the same problem. It seems to be starving. The filter is not clogged, though I have not replaced myself. I'm thinking probably a fuel pump. Does this make sense? Is it a personal project, or do I let someone else do it?

Thanks, I love the site and the help is invaluable

1 Disconnect fuel line after pump, turn engine to see if it pumps a lot of gas into a container. Fuel pump is easy to rebuild. 2 You could be running on 1 cylinder not 3. Switch CDs and could run on 2 of3 cylinders.

Sonny, thanks for the advice, help me out, what is the CD that I am supposed to switch? I am ignorant of outboard mechanics.

Also, Moose, you said the lower Jet was clogged, how do it clean that? Does it need rebuilt? Do I run Carb cleaner through the tank? I am lost, I guess.

Thanks both

fisherfrk you absolutely need a shop manuel. Use the search here to locate one. Find a mechanic who is comfortable with Force. A CD is a capacitor discharge module. It furnishes elec to two coils.
