95-97 vs. 98-2004 Mercruiser Engine

Are there major differences between the two generations of engines? Should I shy away from a boat with the older engine? Just curious if there is something that I should be aware of. I am specifically looking at the 4.3L 190HP.

TheNewer motors have the Vortec design Heads,+ Intake manifold,............<br /><br />But,.....<br />That's No Reason not to buy a boat with the other motor,.......<br />The 4.3L has been,+ Is a Great Motor,.......<br />Basicly,... It's a 5.7L with the 2 front cylinders Missing..............
