I just purchased a 94 Yamaha with the 63 HP engine.
-Are the oil injection systems on these dependable enough or should I consider mixing the oil in the gas?
-Can I run mixed gas without making other modifications to the carb?
-Can this model be ran with a garden hose attached for flushing?
-Any thing I need to look out for on this model?
Thanks for all the help, I can't wait to get it on the water but I will do the maintenance on it necessary first to make sure I don't ruin it, Kevin

Re: 94 Yamaha Waverunner lll questions

Hi bud, your gonna hear a bunch of for's and against's about this so I will just give you the pros and cons. Pro's for a block off plate are obviose. If you used an oil pump and it failed, or an oil line popped off you toast your motor because no lube is getting to it. What folks forget to mention is what if your fuel pump fails and you keep turning it over and no gas/oil is getting to the motor that way, you toast your motor also. If you kept the oil pump, no fuel doesnt toast your motor. You turn it over and all you do is foul some plugs. Seems to be 6 of 1 half dozen of the other. When I got my old yami I thought my oil pump was bad so I bought a new one. Then I read about a block off plate and bought that too. I also read that these oil pumps very rarely fail, its usually a hose pops off so since I have a brand new pump I double clamped all the hoses (i replaced the hoses and check valves) I like not having to premix but i allready had a new pump. Its about 100$ so if you dont trust yours block it off. Like i said they rarely fail. If you do keep it replace all the lines with new clear ones, double clamp them and keep an eye on em. Good luck.
