I have a 1994 Waverunner GP III. The engine and carb have been rebuilt. The engine runs great once it is started. When cold or after being shut down for 10 minutes the engine will not start unless I pour a small amount of fuel into the carb. Then it starts and runs fine. If I shut it down and then immediately try to start it, it starts fine. It idles fairly smooth as well. Why is it not holding fuel? I rebuilt the carn as well with all new parts.
Thanks JRR

have you used the choke? I had what I thought was the same problem on my 1994 Bombadier, but after choking it it fired right up, even after sitting for several days. by choking it you create the vacum needed to pull fuel into the carbs. hope that helped

That's normal. Install a primer (very cheap and easy to install) and you'll be fine.

Two potential things..

1) Are the check valves installed and holding the prime??
2) Is your popoff adjusted correctly?? Did you replace springs when you rebuilt carbs? your popoff may be too high which can cause hard starting.
