I just installed a new trim motor and filled it up with oil. It trimmed down and actually trimmed up the first few times I tried it. Then it would only trim up every 3rd or 4th time you try it (relay clicking). Now, it won't trim up at all.
The UP relay is clicking. I tried a new relay and didn't fix the problem. (BTW, without the UP relay, it won't trim down. I guess this is normal....you need both relays to trim either way.
I tested the 2 leads to the trim motor and got 12V with trim down, but nothing with trim up.
I swapped the 2 leads to the trim motor and it trims up when you press "trim down".
This happens on both the trim switches (one on motor and one on throttle control).
What could be the culprit here? Any ideas?
I'm using the boat this weekend, trim or no trim, and but having trim sure would be nice....
