94 Kawasaki 750 cavitation ? i know very little about pwc

i just got a 94 kawasaki jet ski. it seems to cavitate pretty bad out of the hole. any ideas..

it also does not seem to get enough rpm's doesn't have a tack, but i ride alot of snowmobiles and it doesn't seem to be getting enough could it be the prop causing all of this.

I would remove the pump and look at the clearance between the impeller and wear ring. I believe it needs to arould .003". You will also be able to look at the condition of your impeller also, any dents/dings and rough edges will hurt it's performance. The ride plate needs to be siliconed to the jet ski so no air can be sucked through the edges into the pump. intake grate is probably stock, look for an "R&D" top loader intake grate on e-bay, they direct maximin water flow to your impeller. An "Ocean Pro" ride plate would help also.
