First, welcome to iboats.

second, your fling is a jet drive, IIRC, so you will get a better response from the PWC crowd. There are some who frequent both forums, but the I/O - inboard boats are mostly "car" based engine, while the jets are not.

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,...

You'll find your Answers over in the Jetski Forum,....

This is the I/O Forum.....

Maybe a moderator will move it for you, or you can repost over there....

I have a Boston Whaler 15' Rage which has the same jet drive. A constant warning horn means an overheat. A repeating horn means a lack of oil from the VRO tank/pump. A handheld IR temp guage is a real help with these drives. I would take apart and flush out every inch of the cooling system also make sure there is already a strainer in the intake hose off the back plate of the drive as they often suck up sand and clog the cooling system.

Forgot the second half of your post;
They made an adaptor that connected a garden hose to the outside of the intake where the housing opens to clear out weeds etc. TurboJet sells these and other jet parts. You could also rig up a garden hose to the water intake inside the engine compartment.
Good luck with it. Outside of cooling system quirks the drives work well.
