94 45ho 50 special, no spark.

A friend of mine has a 94 45hp merc on his pontoon and has had intermittent problems with loosing spark. Last year at the beginning of the season he couldnt get it started, I went down there and it had no spark, the next day he went to the boat to try it just for grins and it fired and ran the rest of last season until the last day last year he said it wouldn't start. I don't have a manual for it because its not by boat but would like to help him figure this out. Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting.

I dont have a DVA meter so I cant do a lot of the test shown. I did disconnect the kill wire and the stator wires and still had no spark on any of the cylinders. Does this sound like the CDI box.

There is a resistance test fot a OHM meter.
