What WOT should I look for on this mounted on a 20' Grady walk thru. It has an extra 20 gal fuel tank plus a 30 gal bait tank. I have never changed the prop and believe that it is original. The boat is an 83 model.
I normally see around 5000 to 5100 rpm although I don't push it to that very often.
Also, does running at WOT harm the engine other than watching gas disappear quickly.

Re: 94 225 TLRS WOT

I would rather see it able to turn 5600, the operating range is 4500-5500 but yamaha and experience likes the high side.
as long as the fuel and cooling system are top notch and not degraded at all that motor will run 5000 all day long.
but keeping the fuel system and cooling system well maintained is imperitive for extended flat out running.
